SOLAR BATTERY STORAGE
If you are experiencing frequent power outages, or you live in an area with expensive Time-of-Use electricity rates, then you will want to consider installing a battery.
Power Outages
Traditional solar installations are grid tied systems, meaning that even if you have solar on your roof, and there is a power outage in your area, your house will be in the dark too. To remedy this a battery can power up to four circuits during blackouts so even if your neighbors are living in the dark, you won’t have to.
Each LG Chem Battery can power up to 4 circuits, which can include for example:
Garage Door
Lights
Entertainment System
Security and Alarm Systems
Time-of-Use (TOU)
Once you go solar you will be required to switch to a Time-of-Use electricity bill. For Southern California Edison (SCE), and San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), this means expensive rates during the evening peak hours when the sun has gone down. Lithium-ion battery installations can help you save by storing excess solar energy produced in the day, for use during expensive peak hours at night, getting you one step closer away from utility companies for good.
